We have earnt the nickname "Sunny Nelson". Our town is one of the sunniest places in New Zealand with around 2,500 hours of sunshine a year. With this great climate, beautiful beaches and surrounded by 3 National Parks we think you will find plenty to do when you come to stay.

Stayed at YHA Nelson for 2 nights out of 3, leaving the middle night for a hut stay in Abel Tasman NP. All the staff were super friendly and helpful and it wasn't a problem leaving a bag for the middle night. Freshly baked bread in the morning went down well too -as did the air hockey table...
