Our Reception - Friendly Staff
Our reception is open from 8.30am to 8pm to help with local information, Tour Bookings, coins for the laundry or if you just feel like having a chat.
We have a resident Night Manager onsite after hours.
Tours, Trips & Tickets
We can help you book your Abel Tasman National Park trips, Wine Tours and other local activities. We can also help you with transport arrangements and we are the only ticketing agent for Intercity Buses, Interislander ferries in Nelson.
Guest Kitchens - Love to Cook?
We are lucky to have TWO large newly renovated kitchens. There is always plenty of room for you to prepare your favourite food. Rice cookers, sandwich machines, blenders and more...
Bathrooms - Brand New
Light, bright and sparkling clean, we have lots of newly renovated bathrooms around the hostel. There is one close to your room.
For a little extra convenience, hair straighteners are available from Reception and we carry a small selection of essential toiletries if you’ve forgotten something. Just ask our friendly team.
Bike Hire & E-Bike Hire
We have the latest City Bikes and some zippy Electric bikes available for Half or Full day Hire. Helmets, gloves,bike locks and break down kit included. We have trail maps and can give you suggestions depending on your ability and the amount of time you have available.
Bike Storage
Bring your favourite bike to Nelson... we are setting up the Best Bike Cave in town.
It's right inside our building so your precious machine will be safe and comfy.....
There is also room to work on your bike if it's in need of some TLC and an area to wash your bike down if you've been out into the wilds!
Common Rooms - Hang Out & Relax
Lots of chill out spots around the hostel — find a quiet corner, catch up with friends, or meet new ones. Solo? No problem — our communal lounges and dining areas make it easy to connect.
Movie night, anyone? Our soundproof TV room has hundreds of films to choose from. Pro tip: don’t miss the Lord of the Rings trilogy — filmed right here in New Zealand!
Sauna -Unwind After Adventure
Yes we have a Sauna! It is available free of charge for you to use. Perfect if you've had a hard day kayaking, tramping or enjoying Nelson's other great outdoor activities.
Barbeque Area - Cook & Socialise
Feel like cooking outside? ..... then check out our BBQ. It's in our sunny courtyard and is a great spot in summer or even on a sunny winters day to enjoy a meal.
Large Lockers - Travel Light
Large lockers are available at Reception for our guests to use. Perfect if you have a late flight to catch or if you are heading off on an overnight camping trip and dont need all of your things. They are just $2 for up to 7 days storage.

I stayed here for two weeks whilst I was working in central Nelson and waiting to move into a rental property, so I can honestly say that the hostel is kept consistently clean and tidy (probably the cleanest toilet and shower facilities I have had in a hostel).
I had a private double room (comfy bed) and it was basic but clean, but what more do you expect or need from a city centre hostel. Location wise is really convenient for all that central Nelson has to offer, really close to the weekend markets, shops in town and access to the hills and the Maitai valley (good swimming spots). Lots of info for local activities and adventures further afield.
But overall it was managed by a very friendly host who we obviously got to see quite often as we came and went from the hostel for two weeks. Felt very welcome and would highly recommend to other travellers"
